Our partner school in the Tukwila, Washington area is looking for a full-time, onsite, General Education Teacher! As a part of our team, you will help work with our students for the full school year. We are looking for a kind and compassionate educator to help engage students in the learning process and provide them with the tools to solve problems critically and effectively.
 

Position Details:

  • Current School Year: August 2025 - June 2026
  • Full-Time: up to 40 hours per week
  • Caseload: elementary, specific caseload details will be discussed during the interview process
  • Pay Range: $35 - $50 per hour, depending on previous experience

Requirements:

  • Washington Teaching License,
  • Must have a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Education, or related field
  • Previous school experience preferred, but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and promoting excellent student/teacher interaction.
  • Participate in departmental, school, and parent meetings.
  • Continuously update instructional methods and incorporate new teaching strategies.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and community involvement.
  • Maintain student records and grades according to school district policies.

The Role

Starting September 9, 2025, and continuing through June 17, 2026, this position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. As a DHH Teacher, you’ll manage a diverse K–12 caseload, providing direct instruction, consulting with staff, and supporting the use of auditory equipment and communication tools. You’ll collaborate with families, interpreters, audiologists, and school teams to develop and implement effective IEPs, ensuring communication access and academic growth for students.

Qualifications

  • Valid Washington State certification in Deaf Education or DHH teaching

  • Proficiency in sign language (ASL) and/or other communication modes preferred

  • Prior experience in school settings strongly preferred
