General education teachers must teach a variety of subjects. General Education Teacher Certification and Qualifications

To become a general education teacher in most states, you will need to hold at least a bachelor’s degree and complete the state-specific teacher preparation program. Most states also require classroom teachers to complete professional skills tests as well as general and specific subject matter assessments. Once you’ve obtained your degree and completed the required tests, you can apply for a general education teaching certificate or license.

What You’ll Be Doing
