Jobs for Language Arts Teachers

Language Arts Teaching Jobs

Language arts is a broad term used for the elementary grades as it comprises reading, spelling, writing, phonics, and other elements foundational to the English language. If you are interested in teaching language arts, there are many job opportunities in private and public schools across the country. Elementary and junior high schools are in need of qualified teachers and high-stakes standardized tests require that they master their grade levels.

Each state has minimum standards in language arts that students must attain in grades K through 6. As a core subject, schools from Florida to Montana, Idaho to North Carolina, and every region in between need to hire language arts teachers who can help elementary students succeed.

Language Arts Teacher Certifications and Qualifications

In most states, language arts is an endorsement an elementary school teacher can obtain. States usually require teachers to pass a LA skills test or complete college coursework for the endorsement. Once the endorsement has been earned, it allows you to teach language arts for all the elementary grades including 2nd to 6th grades. This is, of course, in addition to requirements that need to be met for teaching licensure.

Let us help you find a language arts teaching job. We keep an up-to-date list of current language arts teaching jobs in schools across the entire U.S. Schools are always looking for qualified teachers for language arts classes. We can help you find a language arts teaching position in your region.
