Science Teaching Jobs
Science is a required core subject in schools across the country. Science teachers are needed in elementary, middle, and high school grades. If you are interested in teaching science, there are many jobs for you in classrooms across the U.S.. All schools have science courses as part of their curriculum beginning in the early elementary grades and all the way through high school. Many high school science courses are prerequisites for college entry.
Each state has a minimum standard that science students must meet. Standardized tests assess students’ science-related skills and knowledge and teachers play a huge role in preparing students for high-stakes testing. As a core subject, there is a high demand for science teachers from Oregon to Massachusetts, Illinois to Arizona, and everywhere in between.
Science Teacher Certification and Qualifications
Qualifications for science teachers are determined by the individual states. To teach science at an elementary level, most states require a science endorsement that is earned while you are obtaining a bachelor’s degree in general or elementary education. Most regions also require passing the science skills test for teachers. A bachelor’s in a science-related field and a secondary endorsement is required for certification to teach science at the upper levels. However, this may vary slightly for each state.
Let us help you find a science teaching job. We keep an updated list of current openings for science teachers across the U.S. and can help you find a job for which you are certified and qualified. School systems across the country always have a need for qualified science teachers and need to fill positions at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels. We can help you find a science teaching job in any region across the nation.
