In most states, elementary school teachers must hold at least a bachelor’s degree and participate in the state’s required teacher preparation program. Having a BS in Elementary Education usually qualifies a teacher to instruct all the subjects taught in the lower grades, but there may be some exceptions. Some states also require elementary teachers to choose an area of expertise such as math, English, science, or social studies and obtain an endorsement.

Provide remote general education instruction to an 11th grade homebound student.

Deliver course content in a virtual setting, ensuring students receive a full academic experience while working from home.

Monitor progress and provide support for the student, adapting lesson plans to meet their individual learning needs.

Maintain communication with the student’s family and school team to track progress and address any challenges.

Use online platforms and resources provided through Vocovision to deliver lessons and manage student assignments.
Requirements:

Valid General Education Teacher certification in Virginia.

Experience teaching high school students, preferably with homebound or remote learning experience.

Familiarity with using Vocovision or similar online teaching platforms.
