Arizona Teacher Qualifications and Certifications
To apply for a teaching position in Arizona, applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. In most cases, candidates must also complete a teacher preparation program. Arizona has a two-tier system for educators. Teachers start with an Initial 3-year Provisional teaching certificate. After teaching for three years and gaining experience in their appropriate area of teaching, they can advance to a 6-year Standard Teaching Certificate.
