Florida Teaching Jobs

Teach in Florida

Florida public schools have an enrollment of almost 3 million students. The state contains 74 school districts categorized by county or specialty. Students may attend one of the state’s traditional public schools, public magnet schools, public charter schools, private schools, learning pods, or online academies. This variety provides plenty of options for those who desire to teach in Florida.

If you are interested in teaching in Florida, some of the state’s larger school districts including Miami-Dade County, Broward County, Palm Beach County, Polk County, and Orange County public schools can provide numerous opportunities. Smaller school districts like Brevard County, Dixie County, Sarasota County, and Union County need qualified teachers for all grade levels as well.

Florida Teacher Qualifications and Certifications

To teach in Florida public schools, and many of their private schools, you need to hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university as well as complete the Florida state-approved teacher education program. You will also need to pass the Florida Teacher Certification Examination for the subjects or grades you want to teach. You may apply for a provisional certificate if you hold a bachelor’s in a specific area such as mathematics or history.

Let us help you find a teaching job in Florida. We can help you find an opening in the peninsula state whether you want to teach in public, private, charter, or virtual schools in larger areas like Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, or Tampa. You can also explore teaching opportunities in smaller regions along the state’s beautiful beaches. Areas such as Clearwater, Sarasota, Fort Meyers along the Gulf of Mexico need qualified teachers. School systems along the Atlantic include Fort Lauderdale, Melbourne, Vero Beach, and the popular Daytona Beach areas.
