Hawaii Teaching Qualifications and Certifications

Like most other states, Hawaii requires teaching candidates to hold a bachelor’s degree and complete an approved teacher preparation program both from an accredited school. A tiered licensing structure is used for Hawaii teachers so that educators advance through continuing education. A Provisional License is given to those who meet the above criteria.
