Teaching Jobs in Washington

Teach in Washington

Washington state has 295 school districts that serve over a million students. Like most states, traditional public schools are the popular choice for parents, but Washington has other options too such as several public magnet schools and private schools. Parents may also choose from one of the many virtual school options available. Over a dozen public charter schools are located in areas like Tukwila, Seattle, Walla Walla, and Highline. Whether you are looking for a teaching job in an elementary, middle school, or high school setting, there are many choices available.

If you are interested in teaching in Washington, larger school districts like those in Redmond, Kent, and Vancouver, WA provide many opportunities. Qualified teachers are needed for elementary classrooms, curricular classes, and a wide range of subjects for middle and high schools alike.

Washington Teacher Certification and Qualifications

To be eligible to teach in the state of Washington, you must hold a bachelor’s degree, complete the Washington teacher preparation program, and pass the content area exams for the grades or subjects you want to teach. If you have a bachelor’s degree but have not completed the state’s teacher prep program, there are alternative paths to teacher certification.

Let us help you find a teaching job in Washington. We maintain a list of current school openings across the state of Washington including teaching positions in public, private, charter, magnet, and online schools. Washington schools need elementary, junior high, and high school teachers from Spokane to Tacoma, Yakima to Olympia. Whether you are certified for elementary grades or specific subjects, we can help you find a position that matches your skills and certification.
