Minimum Requirements (Must Meet All):

• Active Pennsylvania Instructional I or II Certificate with a Reading Specialist endorsement

• Master’s degree in Reading/Literacy or a related field

• Ability to pass all required Pennsylvania background checks, including:

  • PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)

  • PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)

  • FBI Fingerprinting (Act 114)

• Current TB test and physical as required by the district

• Compliance with all district-specific onboarding requirements

Typical Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted reading instruction and intervention to students at various grade levels

• Assess literacy skills using diagnostic tools and progress monitoring systems

• Collaborate with classroom teachers to support literacy integration across the curriculum

• Develop individualized reading plans and document student progress

• Deliver small-group and one-on-one instruction using evidence-based strategies

• Support schoolwide literacy initiatives and participate in data team meetings

• Communicate regularly with families regarding student growth and needs
