About the Role:
We are currently hiring a dedicated and dynamic High School English Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year in a New Orleans public high school. This role involves teaching general education English Language Arts courses, including literature, composition, and critical reading and writing, to students in grades 9–12.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons in English Language Arts
  • Promote reading comprehension, writing skills, and literary analysis across diverse texts
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and student needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school-wide goals
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student performance
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field required
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certification in English (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain certification by the start of the school year
  • Experience teaching high school English is preferred
  • Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills
  • Commitment to educational equity and student-centered teaching
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Hourly pay rate: $35–$40/hour, based on experience and qualifications
