This role involves teaching general education English Language Arts courses, including literature, composition, and critical reading and writing, to students in grades 9–12.

- Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lessons in English Language Arts
- Promote reading comprehension, writing skills, and literary analysis across diverse texts
- Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instruction based on data and student needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning and school-wide goals
- Maintain regular communication with families regarding student performance
- Participate in professional development and contribute to the school community
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field required
- Valid Louisiana teaching certification in English (Grades 6–12) or eligibility to obtain certification by the start of the school year
- Experience teaching high school English is preferred
- Strong communication, classroom management, and instructional skills
- Commitment to educational equity and student-centered teaching
- Hourly pay rate: $35–$40/hour, based on experience and qualifications
