Wilmington, DE: Adapted Art Therapist

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals
  • Teach art classes to students across various grade levels, fostering their artistic skills and knowledge
  • Plan and organize art projects, assignments, and assessments
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their artistic abilities
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and events

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Valid teaching certification in Art Education
  • Prior experience teaching art at the elementary or secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Contract Details:

  • Special Education co-op
  • This position is a contracted role for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
  • Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Contract renewal may be considered based on performance and availability of positions in subsequent years.
