Wilmington, DE: Adapted Art Therapist
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement art curriculum that aligns with state standards and district goals
- Teach art classes to students across various grade levels, fostering their artistic skills and knowledge
- Plan and organize art projects, assignments, and assessments
- Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to help them improve their artistic abilities
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and events
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid teaching certification in Art Education
- Prior experience teaching art at the elementary or secondary level
- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, mediums, and art history
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Contract Details:
- Special Education co-op
- This position is a contracted role for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year.
- Salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Contract renewal may be considered based on performance and availability of positions in subsequent years.
