We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide specialized instructional services to students with visual impairments in Chesapeake, VA for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time, on-site position supports students across a K–12 caseload, helping them access the curriculum and build independence.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in school settings

  • Adapt and modify instructional materials using Braille, large print, tactile graphics, and assistive technology

  • Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments as part of the IEP process

  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers to support inclusion and accessibility

  • Provide orientation and mobility strategies in partnership with O&M specialists

  • Monitor and document student progress and participate in IEP development and review

  • Educate and train staff and families on best practices for supporting visually impaired students

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or a related field

  • Active Virginia Teaching Certification with TVI endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Proficiency in Braille and assistive technology for the visually impaired

  • Strong understanding of visual impairment and its educational impact

  • Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

This is a full-time, on-site role serving students in a K–12 setting, supporting communication access and academic achievement for learners who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate various modes of communication (spoken language, sign language, cued speech, etc.)

We are seeking a qualified and dependable Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) to provide communication access for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K–12 school setting in Fresno, CA for the 2025–2026 academic year. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to support inclusive education and student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) or other sign systems as required by the student’s needs

  • Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers in the educational setting

  • Interpret classroom instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

  • Collaborate with the educational team to support the student’s IEP goals

  • Assist in fostering student independence and self-advocacy skills

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate or bachelor’s degree preferred)

  • Completion of an interpreter training program

  • National certification (such as EIPA score of 3.5+ or RID certification) preferred
